A British actor, born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on April 7, 1934. He was famous for his regular appearances on the British stage, especially with the Royal Shakespeare Company, since he was one of its founders. In 1961, he married actress Maroussia Frank. He played Professor Henry Higgins in the 20th anniversary Broadway revival of My Fair Lady (1976) and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He is known for From Hell (2001), House of Cards (1990), Dark City (1998), and Brazil (1985). He died on February 9, 2007, in Battersea, London, England, UK.
