Sanaa El Barony was born to a Libyan father and an Egyptian mother, and her sister was actress Sohair El Barooni. Sanaa was one of the members of the Merry Trio band, along with her friends Safaa and Wafaa. The three were graduates of the Institute of Arab Music. They formed a band in the fifties and gained wide fame, and they participated as singers in several films. Sanaa married director Hassan El Emam and participated as a singer in some of his films, most notably Palace Walk (1962) and Palace of Desire (1966). Her notable songs include "Ya Tarha Tolly" (Tulle Veil). |
