An American actress, born in Canada, on September 15, 1907. She moved with her family to the United States when she was three years old. Ray participated in about a hundred films, but she is best known for her role in the 1933 movie King Kong. She retired from cinematic work in 1942 after her second marriage. Ray left acting for ten years between 1942 and 1953. She got married twice, first to screenwriter John Monk Saunders, only to find out later that he was addicted to alcohol and drugs, and secondly to a screenwriter also Robert Riskin, owner of famous works such as It Happened One Night, who died five years after their marriage. In 1953, Ray returned to acting and appeared in a number of films until 1958. Among her most notable works are: The Most Dangerous Game (1932), and The Cobweb (1955). She died on Sunday, August 8, 2004, at the age of 96.
