American actor, born in Pinkelman, Nebraska, USA on April 9, 1903 as Wardell E. Bond. He received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. He married twice and did not have children; he married Doris Sellers Childs (1936-1944) and Mary Louise Mag (1954-1969), and he remained with her until he died on November 5, 1960 in Dallas, Texas, United States of America of a heart attack. Among his most important works: The Maltese Falcon (1941), It's Wonderful Life (1946), and The Searchers (1956). He was educated at the University of Southern California. He got an additional job on the university football team. He got a supporting role in the movie Salute (1929). In the fifties, he became one of the stars of television. He played the roles of soldiers, sailors, policemen, and cowboys. |
