He presented the play The Front Page for the first time on stage, and performed two plays on Broadway; Medea in 1947, and Anna Christie in 1952. Jerry Paris started his cinematic career in the movie The Lady Gambles (1949) in a small role and gradually landed bigger roles, such as in Outrage (1950), The Wild One (1953) and The Caine Mutiny (1954). However, he was limited to playing supporting roles, but he found bigger opportunities on television as an actor, and later as a director. Jerry's most notable work includes Marty (19505), The Great Impostor (1960), The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1966), Happy Days (1974), and Police Academy 2, (1985). He won a Primetime Emmy Award 1964 as a director. He died in Los Angeles, California, on March 31, 1986, of a brain tumor.
