He worked as a teacher and inspector of education in Egypt until 1959, then held many positions, including director of special education and adult education until 1969, and an expert in the Specialized National Councils until 1988. He was a member of the Modern Literature Association, a member of the Egyptian Writers Union, and a member of the Union of Dramatic Writers.
