An American actor, born in Los Angeles, California, on October 29, 1907. Douglass Montgomery graduated from Los Angeles High School and trained at Pasadena Community Playhouse, whereupon he joined MGM, which introduced him in the movie Paid (1930). However, his artistic career stopped with the outbreak of WWII, as he joined the Canadian Air Force for 4 years, after which Montgomery returned to acting, but his roles were rare, so he turned to British cinema, then went back to the United States, where he worked on television. Douglass Montgomery's notable work includes Waterloo Bridge (1931), Music in the Air (1934), and The Cat and the Canary (1939). He died in Norwalk, Connecticut, on July 23, 1966.
