He joined the American...Read more Red Cross in 1941 and served in Great Britain during the war. There, he met director John Huston, who recommended him a job in Hollywood after the war. Instead, he went to work for the US Treasury, which sent him to Hollywood to work as a technical advisor on the films End of the Earth and Orson Welles. He appeared in a number of classic American films, where he participated in Shane, Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He died on January 8, 1975 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
