Ladj Ly is a French director. He won the Jury Prize at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival for his film Les Miserables, which was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Moreover, he received a nomination for a César Award for Best Director, and his film was nominated for and received several César Awards in its various categories as well as many awards from international film festivals. He chaired the jury of the 23rd Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts in 2022. |
