An American actress who was born in Los Angeles, California, USA on December 2, 1913 as Virginia Evangeline Carroll and died in Santa Barbara, California, USA on March 23, 2009. She married twice and had a child. Her most important works are A Tenderfoot Goes West (1936), Silent...Read more Witness (1943), Headline Hunters (1955), and The Black Widow (1947). She was a leading actress in Western films and a small actress in other films during the 1930s and 1940s. She was a department store model before working in films as a model in Roberta (1935), and she appeared with her husband, actor Ralph Bird in Dick Tracy Returns (1938). Her first Western film was A Tenderfoot Goes West (1936). She died in 2009 at the age of 95.
