British actress, born in Camberley, Surrey, England, on March 4, 1912. She was an English film and television actress, provided supporting and additional roles. She was the daughter of a general in the army, she was educated at St. Paul's School for Girls, and studied acting in the Old Vic in London in 1932. She began her artistic activity as a theater actress, and played roles as a teacher, a nurse, and a wife, and her first role was Goodness, How Sad! (1938). Among her most important works include: Doomwatch (1971), Carry on Spying (1964), Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939) and Black Narcissus (1947). She died in Canterbury, Kent, England, on August 29, 1974 from a heart attack.
