A British actor, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, as Henry William Harold Siddons. Among his most important works are The Baby and the Battleship (1956), BBC Sunday-Night Theatre (1950), A Night to Remember (1958), and The Dam Busters (1955). Harold Siddons appeared in Shakespeare's plays and served in the Bomber Command during World War II as a flight engineer. He often played uniformed supporting and minor roles during the 1950s and also spent the 1950 season with the Shakespeare Memorial Company (later renamed the Royal Shakespeare Company) at the Memorial Theatre, Stratford. He died in England, United Kingdom, on November 4, 1963, by suicide at the age of 41.
