A British actor, born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. Brian Wilde married actress Eva Stuart (1960-2008), they had two children, and she remained with him until his death. Among his most important works are Last of the Summer Wine (1973), Night of the Demon (1957), and Porridge (1974-1977). Wilde was a film and television character actor, known for his socially ambitious comedic characters. He attended Hertford Grammar School and RADA. He also voice-acted in animated works for children. Brian Wilde died at the age of 80 in Ware, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom, on March 20, 2008, following complications from a fall.
