Mahmoud Abdel Aziz steps down from “The King” and Khaled Saleh is his replacement.

Producing company for the series “The King” replaced actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz with actor Khaled Saleh in hope that the series plays next Ramadan. It was initially scheduled to play last Ramadan but due to the events of the Egyptian revolution, the series was put on hold. According to “Al Fagr” newspaper, author Fathi El Gendi said that the role was written initially for Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. The series is about one of the antiquities dealers in Luxor known as “The King” and the events that unfold as a result of this dangerous profession.The cost of producing the series up till now is 60 million pounds, and the director will be Adel Adeeb. The cast and crew have not been chosen yet or when the series starts shooting.Mahmoud Abdel Aziz’s latest television series was “Mahmoud Al Masri” in 2005 and Khaled Saleh’s latest television series was “Al Rayan” that played last Ramadan and was very successful.
