Last Wednesday before the release of the movie “The Traveler” director Ahmed Maher discovered yet another problem with the censorship committee related to the movie. The 2 scenes that were subject to discussion were negotiated earlier and approved, now the censorship committee only agreed to play them if the whole movie was rated “R”.The 2 scenes where, first, an intimate scene between Khaled El Nabawi and Serene Abdel Noor and the second one was of a Lebanese actress breast feeding a baby.Maher had to choose between deleting the 2 scenes entirely or rating the movie “R” in order for the movie to play in cinemas, and he chose the latter. The movie plays in 5 theaters, and it is staring Omar El Sherif, Khaled Nabawi, Serene Abdel Nour and Sherif Ramzy and it is written and directed by Ahmed Maher.
