In the 65th annual Cannes Film Festival, American star Sean Penn held a press conference on Friday the 18th of May entitled "An evening to support Haiti", joined by Petra Nemkova and Paul Haggis where they explained the charity works they do to support Haiti.Sean Penn urged Barack Obama to support Haiti saying that Africans in America were enslaved until they rebelled against the situation. Therefore, America should support Haitians especially in Florida where they exist the most.He added that infrastructure is really important, as health and education are key factors to create jobs in any country that would contribute to the middle class. He said that we want to leave Haiti strong and return to visit it as tourists. He refused to be called a philanthropist, as he believes that we all are put in specific places at specific times to achieve something, and we should all be ashamed if we didn't answer the call.Paul Haggis said that he knows we are all different, but we all should work together on the long term. Even though many doubters didn't believe in their cause and left them behind, he assured that he believes in Sean Penn's words that they came to that place and they are there to stay until a difference is made.
