After winning the Critics’ Choice Awards for the same category, British singer Adele was totally surprised to win the Golden Globe for Best Original Song at the awards ceremony that took place yesterday. Adele’s “Skyfall” anthem for the 23rd James Bond film is also competing at the Oscars for the same category and she might perform the song at the Academy Awards ceremony on February 24.

Adele, who was ecstatic about her achievement, thanked “Skyfall”director Sam Mendes, song co-writer Paul Epworth, lead actor Daniel Craig whom she described as a great James Bond, and Sony Pictures. She also thanked her boyfriend Simon Konecki for his faith and for convincing her to write the song and she dedicated the trophy to her son she delivered in October 2012.
