Video: Daniel Day-Lewis praises DiCaprio and Neeson at the Screen Actors Guild Awards

While accepting the Best Actor Award from the 19thScreen Actors Guild; great actor Daniel Day-Lewis thanked his friends LeonardoDiCaprio and Liam Neeson for their great support and encouragement in his portrayof the late American President Abraham Lincoln in "Lincoln".

Day-Lewis expressed his pride in representingthe 16th American president in this difficult role in which hesnatched the Best Actor award from the great competition of Denzel Washingtonin "Flight", Bradley Cooper in "Silver Linings Playbook"and John Hawkes in "The Sessions".

In his speech; Day-Lewis also thanked thedynamic team behind the making of this film under the supervision of StevenSpielberg. He also saluted Joaquin Phoenix who surprisingly was not nominatedfor the Best Actor Award at the Screen Actors Guild for his role in "TheMaster" even though he received it at Berlin International Film Festival. Phoenixpraised Day-Lewis' outstanding performance in "Lincoln" while receivingthe London Critics Circle Film Award for Actor of the Year.
