Rafik El Saban dies after a week in intensive care

Dr. Rafik El Saban, critic and screenplay professor at the High Cinema Institute, died yesterday after spending a week in intensive care at Maadi hospital, reported Elwatan newspaper.

The young director, Sheriff Abanndari, mourned the loss of the High Institute professor stating Saban’s teachings and artistic taste for movies, theater and music shaped ours. Dorra, the Tunisian actress, also mourned the loss of the well-known critic on her Facebook account, posting: R.I.P. Rafiq El Saban.

It's worth mentioning that Saban wrote the screenplay for many important movies, among them: “El Ekhwa Al Adaa” (1974) and “ Habibi Daeman”(1980). Originally Syrian, he was living in Egypt since the early seventies.Before his death, the screenwriter was working on a movie with Enas El Dighade called 'El Samt”.
