Bahaa recounts to his son Mahmoud the death of his mother after his birth. Mahmoud studies hard for the university exam, which he aces. Bahaa sends his approval to appoint Souad as a secretary at the company.
Souad starts her job. Mahmoud travels to spend his vacation in Alexandria, where he’s joined by Amal. As Souad tries to gain Bahaa's trust and take control of the office, Bahaa regrets just thinking about her.
As Bahaa feels distracted and confused, Souad continues to lead him on. Souad's father looks for a job after his retirement. Mahmoud publishes a controversial story in the university magazine. Bahaa tells Mahmoud that he is considering marriage, which he objects to, resulting in a dispute.
Mahmoud is saddened by his father's insistence on marrying, while Souad's father objects to the marriage due to the big age gap. Disagreements begin to rise between Mahmoud and his father after Souad comes to stay in the villa.
Amal informs Bahaa of Mahmoud's sudden disappearance, which alarms Halima, whom Souad rages at and decides to expel from the villa, whereupon Bahaa tries to dissuade her. Souad gives a large sum of money to her mother.
Souad fires Bahaa’s secretary. Mahmoud tries to get close with his father again, whereupon he asks Bahaa to establish a literary magazine, to which Souad objects.
When Souad asks Bahaa for a new car, he buys her the car. Mahmoud meets Murad, a coworker at the magazine, and learns that he has a serious illness. Souad's financial demands increase; meanwhile, she tries to harass Mahmoud and spy on him.
Souad asks Bahaa for a divorce on the pretext of Mahmoud's insult to her. Murad turns his life into a literary story.
Bahaa falls and becomes paralyzed after returning from Alexandria with Souad, who thinks of a way to take control of the company. A private office is prepared for Mahmoud next to Bahaa's company, along with Murad. Souad tries everything to make Mahmoud marry her sister Farida.
As Bahaa asks Mahmoud to marry Farida, Murad tries to talk Mahmoud into the marriage. Souad goes to the company and takes money from its manager. Mahmoud marries Farida.
Mahmoud and Farida travel to Alexandria for their honeymoon. When Bahaa dies, Souad plots to seize his fortune.
Souad and her father, Hassan, meet with Mahmoud to discuss the inheritance. Hassan rages at his greedy daughter and decides to cut ties with her. Farida sides with her father against Souad, while Souad asks the company’s manager Ibrahim, who proposes to her, to side with her against Mahmoud.
Farida becomes jealous of Samia, Mahmoud's secretary, upon Souad's provocation, after which Samia quits as she was insulted. Mahmoud discovers Souad's tampering with the company’s books and rushes to confront her, whereupon she has a nervous breakdown.
