| Emma Alpert | Fariha was born into a working class family. Her father is a security guard at an upscale housing division and her mother works as a housekeeper in one of the houses. Her mother gives her the name Fariha, in hopes of granting her daughter happiness and good fortune throughout her life. When Fariha goes to college, she begins lying to her friends about her background, claiming that she is from a wealthy family. She soon develops feelings for one her rich colleagues and finds herself in the midst of an internal and external struggle, torn between her lies and the truth. 574 |
